Job purposeThe Software Developer, Logistics Information Systems will support the Director, Logistics Information Systems in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of the Company's in-house business systems, including the Transport Management System (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other operational applications. The incumbent will work closely with business users to translate operational requirements into practical system solutions, drive continuous improvement of business applications, support system implementation and user adoption, and provide training and technical guidance to ensure effective utilisation of the Company's digital platforms. The role also contributes to the Company's digital transformation initiatives by delivering reliable, scalable and user-centric software solutions that improve operational efficiency and business performance.Duties and responsibilitiesSoftware Development & System EnhancementAssist in the development, enhancement and maintenance of the company's in-house business systems, including the Transport Management System (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other operational applications.Develop new system features and functionalities based on business and operational requirements.Analyse user feedback and operational challenges to recommend and implement system improvements.Perform coding, testing, debugging and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability and performance.Maintain system documentation, technical specifications and version control. Business Process ImprovementProvide technical support for internally developed business systems and applications.Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner.Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.Work closely with users to clarify system functionality and provide practical solutions to operational challenges.Ensure business applications remain stable, secure and aligned with operational needs. Cybersecurity &ComplianceEnsure compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations, including Singapore PDPA requirements. User Implementation &Training Support the implementation of new system modules, enhancements and digital initiatives across the organisation.Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate system rollout activities.Train employees on the proper use of business systems and digital tools.Develop user manuals, training materials and standard operating procedures.Provide ongoing user support to ensure effective adoption of new system functionalities. Integration & Digital Transformation Assist in integrating in-house systems with third-party platforms, customer portals and business applications.Support digital transformation initiatives through the development of new system capabilities. Collaborate with stakeholders to improve interoperability between TMS, WMS, ERP and other enterprise systems.Evaluate new technologies and recommend enhancements that improve operational efficiency.Stakeholder CollaborationWork closely with the team and business stakeholders to prioritise system enhancements and development initiatives.Liaise with operational departments to gather requirements, clarify business needs and provide technical guidance.Collaborate with external vendors and technology partners where necessary.Support project planning, implementation and post-deployment reviews.RequirementsEducationDiploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related discipline.ExperienceMinimum 2 years of relevant experience in software development, business application development or systems implementation is preferred. Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude are welcome to apply. Experience in developing or maintaining enterprise business systems such as TMS, WMS, ERP or CRM will be an advantage. Experience in system implementation, user training and business process improvement is preferred. Experience working in the logistics, supply chain or transportation industry will be an added advantage. Technical Skills Proficient in software development using one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, PHP or JavaScript. Good understanding of relational databases and SQL. Familiarity with web application development, APIs and system integration. Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies and version control practices. Basic understanding of cloud technologies, cybersecurity and data protection principles is an advantage. Familiarity with reporting and business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI is an added advantage.Personal AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
