What You’ll Do As a Software Engineer, you will build, maintain, and improve backend systems and internal tools that support live game operations, game configuration, and administrative workflows. You will work across a large Django codebase and Vue-based tooling to deliver reliable features, fix issues, and help keep live-service systems stable, scalable, and efficient.
Develop and maintain backend features in Python and Django across game systems, live-ops tooling, player systems, and administrative applications Build and support internal web tools and workflows used to manage game data, events, messaging, rewards, and operational configuration Contribute to frontend functionality in Vue.js for admin panels and live-ops interfaces Implement APIs, business logic, data models, and supporting services in a large shared production codebase Work with MySQL, Redis, and DynamoDB-backed systems to support gameplay features and operational workflows Help maintain blueprint-driven game configuration systems and related data pipelines, including JSON-based content and FlatBuffer serialization workflows where needed Debug production and staging issues, troubleshoot data or configuration problems, and help deliver safe fixes in a live-service environment Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, with attention to query performance, system reliability, and long-term maintainability Partner with QA, product, design, and other engineers to ship features and support ongoing game operations Participate in code reviews, testing, and release readiness for backend and tooling changes
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Technical Skills
2+ years of professional software development experience. Strong proficiency in Python and solid object-oriented programming fundamentals Experience building web applications or backend systems using frameworks such as Django, Flask, or similar Working knowledge of relational databases and ORM-based development, ideally with MySQL Experience with JavaScript frontend development (Vue.js or React.js) Understanding of REST APIs, server-side architecture, and common backend integration patterns Familiarity with caching, background processing, and operational tooling in production systems Comfort debugging application issues, improving performance, and working in a large existing codebase Experience with Docker or Podman-based local development environments is a plus. Exposure to Redis, DynamoDB, AWS, or live-service backend systems is a plus.
Cross-Functional and Domain Knowledge
Interest in live-service games, backend tooling, or internal platforms that support content and operations teams Ability to work across both feature development and maintenance work in a fast-moving production environment Comfort collaborating with cross-functional partners to implement and support operationally critical workflows
Soft Skills & Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style Strong ownership mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn complex systems Pragmatic problem-solver who can balance speed, quality, and maintainability. Passion for games, live operations, or building systems that support player-facing experiences
