About Liquid GroupLiquid Group is a Singapore-headquartered payments technology company building cross-border payment infrastructure across Asia and globally.Our RoamQR Network of Networks connects national payment networks, financial institutions, payment applications, acquirers and merchants to enable interoperable cross-border payments.As we expand internationally, we are building a senior Markets & Strategic Partnerships team in Singapore to develop priority markets and strategic relationships globally.The RoleThe Director / Senior Director, Markets & Strategic Partnerships will own an assigned geographic or strategic portfolio and be responsible for developing Liquid Group's institutional relationships, market access and commercial opportunities.Geographic portfolios may include Southeast Asia, Greater China, North Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, Middle East, Europe, Africa and the Americas.Strategic portfolios may include global and regional partnerships across travel, hospitality, airlines, tourism, loyalty, retail and other sectors relevant to cross-border payments.Key ResponsibilitiesMarket DevelopmentOwn and develop assigned countries, regions or strategic markets.Build senior relationships with central banks, national payment networks and switches, banks, payment operators, issuer applications, wallets, acquirers and other key ecosystem participants.Develop a strong understanding of local payment infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, market dynamics and decision-making structures.Identify opportunities for RoamQR connectivity, issuer participation, merchant acceptance and cross-border payment corridors.Develop and execute market-entry and market-development strategies.Represent Liquid Group with senior government, regulatory, financial and industry stakeholders.Strategic PartnershipsOriginate and develop regional and global strategic partnerships supporting RoamQR and Liquid Group's wider payment ecosystem.Develop relationships with hotel groups, airlines, airports, tourism organisations, travel platforms, loyalty programmes, major merchant groups and other strategic partners.Structure partnerships covering payment acceptance, distribution, customer acquisition, loyalty, merchant privileges and joint commercial programmes.Develop partnerships capable of scaling across multiple markets.Commercial ExecutionConvert institutional relationships and market access into measurable commercial outcomes.Originate and progress new network connections, payment corridors, issuer and acquirer participation and strategic partnerships.Lead commercial discussions and negotiations.Coordinate Product, Technology, Network Implementation, Operations, Compliance and Marketing teams to progress opportunities through agreement, implementation and launch.Maintain ownership of key relationships and develop opportunities for continued expansion.Candidate ProfileWe welcome senior professionals with strong market knowledge, institutional relationships and experience operating across complex international environments.Relevant backgrounds mayinclude:Central banks, payment authorities and national payment infrastructureNational payment networks and domestic switchesBanking, transaction banking and financial servicesInternational payment networks, payment operators and fintechGovernment trade, investment and economic development organisationsSenior trade, diplomatic or international commercial rolesTravel, hospitality, airlines and tourismMajor multinational or regional corporate groupsCandidates should demonstrate:Deep knowledge and senior relationships within one or more international markets or relevant industries.Ability to engage credibly with government, regulatory, financial institution and C-suite stakeholders.Strong commercial judgement and negotiation capability.Experience navigating complex, multi-party and cross-border initiatives.Ability to originate opportunities and independently drive them towards execution.Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.Willingness to travel internationally.Payments experience is advantageous. Candidates with exceptional market expertise, institutional relationships and the ability to understand payment infrastructure will also be considered.Appointment LevelAppointments may be made at Directoror Senior Director level depending on experience, market expertise and the scope and strategic importance of the portfolio.Senior Directors will typically own broader or more complex regional portfolios, major national payment infrastructure relationships or global strategic partnerships, and are expected to operate effectively at central bank, CEO and C-suite level.The OpportunityLiquid Group is building connectivity between domestic payment ecosystems to enable more open and interoperable cross-border payments.This role provides the opportunity to shape that expansion by developing the markets, institutional relationships and strategic partnerships required to extend the reach and adoption of the RoamQR Network of Networks globally.
