Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain the Android client for the game store, using Kotlin + Jetpack Compose to deliver a modern, high-performance UI Implement core features: game browsing, categories, search and filtering, game detail pages, user accounts, game library, ratings and reviews Design and implement the game download, install, and update management module (resumable downloads, guided/silent installation, signature verification, version management) Implement white-label theming and multi-channel build capabilities (via Gradle product flavors and/or runtime theme configuration) to support per-partner branding Optimize app performance(e.g. startup time), stability(e.g. crash rate), binary size, memory usage Collaborate closely with product owner, designer, backend dev, and QA; contribute to technical design and code reviews
Android Requirements: Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 5+ years of native Android development experience Strong command of Kotlin, including coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming (or master Java and its equivalents) Proficient with Jetpack Compose for declarative UI development (traditional View/XML experience is a plus) Proficiency with AI coding tools At least 3+ of the following Familiar with Android Jetpack components (ViewModel, Lifecycle, Room, Navigation, Hilt) and MVVM/MVI architecture Familiar with common libraries: networking (Retrofit/OkHttp), image loading (Coil/Glide), local storage Familiar with the Gradle build system, including white-label / multi-tenant / multi-flavor builds, signing, and version management Experience with app stores, content distribution, or downloader-type products is a big plus Understanding of Android’s installation mechanisms, permission model, and behavioral changes across versions Solid engineering fundamentals: coding standards, unit testing, GitLab/GitHub
Gaming Requirements: At least 3+ of the following
Understanding of the Chinese gaming industry, game app’s characteristics and player needs Experience in Chinese game building, publishing, operation on main Chinese gaming platforms Experience in the game development, publishing, operations Familiarity with the Android package structure exported by game engines such as Unity / Unreal (APK + OBB expansion files, large asset bundles) Experience integrating game SDKs (account login, in-app purchases (IAP), ad monetization, analytics, real-name verification) Understanding of download, install, and asset-update mechanisms for large games (asset splitting / hot updates)
Nice to have: Familiarity with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
Note: less experienced candidate could be considered as middle-level developer.
