Payments Technical Analyst

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payments Technical Analyst to support payment operations by investigating and resolving transaction discrepancies. The role involves analyzing transaction flows, reviewing backend system logs, performing root cause analysis, and working closely with internal teams to diagnose and resolve payment processing issues.Responsibilities:Analyze backend application logs, transaction records and system-generated events to identify the root cause of payment and settlement issues.Perform root cause analysis on transaction issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrenceInvestigate technical issues and support resolution of production incidents impacting payment processing.Monitor payment flows, operational dashboards, alerts, and system monitoring tools to identify exceptions, anomalies, and service disruptions.Liaise with internal teams (Operations, Technology, Compliance) and external stakeholders (banks, partners) to resolve issues promptlyEnsure all investigations are completed within defined timelines and in line with service level agreementsMaintain accurate records of investigations, resolutions, and audit trailsSupport reconciliation processes and ensure alignment between payment systems and recordsEscalate critical issues and risks in a timely manner to relevant stakeholdersEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and AML/CFT guidelinesParticipate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controlQualifications:Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field.3–6 years of experience in payments, or settlement investigations, technical operations, production support, systems analysis, or a related function.Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.Ability to analyze application logs and troubleshoot transaction processing issues.Basic understanding of APIs, system integrations, databases, and transaction processing workflows.Familiarity with SQL or database querying for investigation and reconciliation purposes is advantageous.Exposure to production support, incident management, or technical troubleshooting environments is preferred.Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
