Key Account Manager (FMCG)

Ninja Mart is one of Ninja Van's newest business units, focused on transforming FMCG distribution through speed, efficiency, and innovation by leveraging Ninja Van's logistics network and technology. The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing assigned key customer accounts, building strong customer relationships, and driving sales performance. This role works closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Data, to ensure excellent customer service, achieve business targets, and identify opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Key Account Management
● Manage and maintain strong relationships with assigned Modern Trade and Local Key Account customers. ● Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries and issues. ● Conduct regular business reviews to understand customer needs and identify growth opportunities.
2. Sales & Business Growth
● Develop and execute account plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives. ● Identify opportunities to grow sales, improve product distribution, and expand the customer portfolio. ● Monitor sales performance and recommend actions to improve revenue and profitability.
3. Customer Collaboration
● Work closely with customers on promotions, product launches, pricing, and merchandising initiatives. ● Negotiate commercial terms and ensure successful execution of agreed business plans. ● Build long-term partnerships to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
● Collaborate with Sales Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of customer requirements. ● Coordinate demand forecasts, order fulfilment, and inventory planning to support customer needs. ● Resolve operational issues affecting customer service levels.
5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
● Track account performance, sales trends, and key business metrics. ● Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and business reviews for management. ● Monitor customer KPIs and recommend improvements to drive account performance.
6. Market & Competitive Insights
● Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback. ● Identify new business opportunities and recommend strategies to strengthen market presence. ● Share market insights to support commercial planning and decision-making
Requirements: ● Minimum 4 years of experience in key account management, strategy & operations, or a similar role within the FMCG or related industry. ● Existing networks and strong working relationships with Modern Trade, Local Key Account, Cash & Carry and Wholesaler buyers are highly desirable. ● Proven ability to manage cross-functional portfolios with P&L impact ● Strong capability in KPI decomposition, roadmap planning, and stakeholder influence ● Excellent structured communication and problem-solving skills ● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience) ● Strong in strategic thinking with strong execution capability, stakeholder management and influence without authority, structured, data-driven decision-making, Bias for action in ambiguous and fast-paced environments. ● Proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu
