Backend Engineer (AI) / GOVT - SPZW

Location: Pasir Panjang (Hybrid) Job Type: Full-Time Contract (Subjected to renewal/conversion)Salary Package: Basic UP to $9,500 (dependable on experience) + AWS + ALs and Medical benefits Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.Own backend features across the full development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to testing, deployment, and production support.Build integrations with internal platforms, external systems, and third-party APIs.Develop and enhance AI-powered backend capabilities.Build and maintain data processing pipelines for reliable and efficient information retrieval.Work with relational and non-relational databases to deliver performant and resilient backend systems.Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability, observability, and operational performance.Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices across testing, CI/CD, security, and maintainability.Continuously improve platform architecture, performance, scalability, and developer experience.Requirements Min. 4 - 7 years of backend software engineering experience in a production environment.Strong hands-on experience with Python, including frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, third-party APIs, and OAuth 2.0 / token-based authentication.Experience working with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.Exposure to LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and vector databasesFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform would be advantageousFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, GitHub, or equivalent version control and deployment workflows.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, engineering, and UX teams.By submitting your resume, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information per ScienTec’s Privacy Policy (scientecconsulting.com/privacy-policy).This authorizes us to:• Contact you about potential opportunities.• Delete personal data as it is not required at this application stage.All applications will be processed with strict confidence.
