Research Fellow/Engineer (in AI solutions for train operations and maintenance) - FG(1056)

Job PurposeAs a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to an industry innovation research project on developing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for train operations and maintenance. Key ResponsibilitiesWork closely with faculty members, researchers, students, and collaborators on research activities and technology development.Support research and development in Artificial Intelligence and related areas for train operations and maintenance.Assist in the coordination and management of the research project.Coordinate finance tracking, reporting, and communications with industry and research partners. Job RequirementsBachelor/Master/PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.Experience in project management, research administration, or coordination of large-scale projects is highly preferred.Familiarity with finance management, budget tracking, procurement, or grant administration will be an added advantage.Experience in areas such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Large Language Models, Data Analytics, or Intelligent Systems will be advantageous.Key CompetenciesPrior experience in research project coordination and managementBasic knowledge about finance tracking and reportingCapabilities of communication and organisational skills
