The position is based in Bangalore, India, and will report to the Senior Director, Regulatory Counsel, APAC and SAMENA. What You’ll Be Responsible For: • Providing legal advice to assist Payoneer in the evaluation and management of significant and complex payments and financial services industry regulatory matters in India • Supporting the CEO, Principal Officer and Nodal Officer of Payoneer India and the Indiacompliance, finance and other teams in the governance and day-to-day operations of Payoneer India, which has received in-principle authorisation as a Payment Aggregator – Cross Border  • Corporate Secretary responsibilities, including Board of Directors meetings, minutes and adherence to regulatory requirements • Privacy and data protection legal support  • Supporting business, marketing, and other teams with the development of new services and initiatives, and fostering strong relationships across multiple functional areas, including product and platform teams • Contributing to positive working relationships with Indian regulators, such as DPSS-RBI, FED RBI, FIU, CERSAI, MAS, CERT-In, and with industry initiatives such as the Payment Council of India • Researching, analysing, and determining effects of quickly evolving regulations in India, and keeping current on issues and upcoming regulatory changes that may impact Payoneer in India and Payoneer’s strategic goals and objectives and supporting the implementation of measures to ensure continued compliance • Supporting Legal and Regulatory Counsels in Payoneer and the Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer in formulating Payoneer’s regulatory and public policy strategy What We’re Looking For: • Fully qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials, qualified in India, and with at least 8 years of post-admission experience practising as an attorney at a law firm or relevant in-house legal department. Financial services, payments, and fintech industry experience is preferred. • Experience working directly with regulators and regulatory authorities in India is an advantage, but not strictly required. • Solid understanding of RBI regulatory frameworks, with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements in a commercial context. • Ability to evaluate fact situations, identify legal issues, analyse and understand statutes, regulations and recommend appropriate courses of action. • Ability to provide practical legal advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders on matters of significant importance to the company. • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. • Ability to handle a diverse set of issues and provide a high level of service to internal customers in a friendly and professional manner. • An open communicator with skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. • Flexibility for occasional travel.
