As a Healthcare Architect (HealthShare), you will step into a senior leadership role commanding the strategic vision, design, and technical governance of our organization's Health Information Exchange (HIE) and interoperability platform. Built entirely upon InterSystems HealthShare and IRIS for Health, this infrastructure underpins our clinical ecosystem.You will be the top-tier technical authority responsible for ensuring our architecture is massively scalable, secure, and fully compliant with healthcare regulations (such as HIPAA and FHIR mandates). You will bridge the gap between executive stakeholders, infrastructure specialists, and development squads—defining the enterprise roadmap, mentoring senior engineers, and driving complex clinical data integrations (UCR, EMPI, and Clinical Viewer) into production-ready cloud or hybrid frameworks.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Architectural DesignPlatform Roadmap: Formulate the technical roadmap and future-state architecture for the InterSystems HealthShare platform across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.Clinical Integration: Lead the architectural design of high-volume, complex clinical data integrations and custom workflows using InterSystems IRIS and HealthConnect.System Authority: Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for core HealthShare components, including Unified Care Record (UCR), Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI), Clinical Viewer, and Care Management.Data Harmonization: Structure and harmonize healthcare data within the SDA (Shared Data Architecture) format to optimally support advanced population health analytics and AI/ML pipelines.Technical Governance & StandardsDevelopment Standards: Establish, enforce, and audit development, security, and configuration protocols across all interoperability production environments.Technical Mentorship: Guide engineering teams on development best practices utilizing Caché ObjectScript, DTL (Data Transformation Language), XSLT, and BPL (Business Process Language).Modern Interoperability: Architect and manage the strategic migration from legacy messaging layers to modern standards, specifically implementing comprehensive HL7 FHIR data pipelines.Privacy & Security: Manage complex security configurations, including identity management, user authentication, clinical consent boundaries, and selective data masking/filtering.Leadership & CollaborationCross-Team Liaison: Act as the primary technical interface between application teams, infrastructure engineers, business analysts, and external HIE data partners.Project Governance: Provide expert technical estimations, risk assessments, and resource planning blueprints for large-scale enterprise integration projects.Skills & Experience RequiredMust-Have Skills (Mandatory for Skills Matching)Experience: Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in Healthcare IT, with at least 5 years strictly dedicated to architecting solutions on InterSystems HealthShare, Ensemble, or Caché.Core Technology Stack: Advanced, master-level hands-on expertise with InterSystems IRIS for Health / HealthConnect and Caché ObjectScript.Healthcare Interoperability Standards: Deep, practical knowledge of medical messaging standards including HL7 V2, CDA/CCDA, IHE profiles, and comprehensive FHIR implementation.Database Management: Expert understanding of internal database optimization, data modeling, Globals, and index tuning within the InterSystems environment.Cloud Deployment: Proven track record of designing and deploying clinical platforms within major cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Good-to-Have Skills (Preferred)Certifications: InterSystems Certified Architect or related elite-level healthcare informatics credentials.Clinical EMR Integration: Practical experience integrating InterSystems pipelines with Tier-1 clinical systems such as Epic or Cerner.Analytics Architecture: Familiarity with business intelligence and data warehousing built upon HealthShare structures (e.g., DeepSee, Health Insight).Modern DevOps: Hands-on exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automation tools applied specifically to InterSystems deployment lifecycles.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex architectural blueprints into clear concepts for executive-level presentation.How to ApplyPlease click on the 'apply' button to apply online.
