Who we are looking forAs part of the Professional Services organization within Charles River for Private Markets (CRPM), the primary goal of the Senior Manager will be ensuring successful delivery of Data Management Services (DMS) for key strategic clients.  This role is critical in ensuring that the requirements from these clients across multiple asset classes are carefully solutioned for via SaaS, and to provide guidance on operational excellence around specific data services.The role requires the candidate to work closely with multiple areas within the company while gaining a deep understanding of all areas of the business.  The Senior Manager will be the key interface to customer success and have consistent exposure to large private markets funds and multi-national companies. The key to this role is consultancy and delivery – the Senior Manager will provide subject matter knowledge so to deliver to client goals while being a trusted advisor to the client. Why this role is important to usThe team you will be joining is the Private Markets team (formerly Mercatus), a part of Charles River Development (or CRD) that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.Join us if delivering next generation infrastructure, using emerging technologies like AI and Blockchain sounds like a challenge you are up for.What you will be responsible forProfessional Services support and Client leadership for DMSWork together with the Professional Services lead for the client to conduct requirements gathering sessions to ensure successful configuration specific to needs. Work across multiple private markets asset classes, including private credit, hedge funds, real estate, private equity.  Key focus on private credit and loans processing.  Example data sets:  loan data attributes, lifecycle changes to investments, capital call notices, PCAP statements, valuation and cash flow data.Document process workflow, data capture, data validation requirements, and nuances based on asset class to lay out delivery of each service to meet client needs.Support Professional Services lead in defining deployment options for clients and outline key advantages / disadvantages as it pertains to delivery of DMSProvide client-facing leadership as the face of CRPM DMS to the client.  Report on operational metrics, issues, and next steps regularly.Operational leadership of DMS (key focus on Loan Processing): Solution for the onboarding of outsourced investments (loans) from clients, which involves designing the onboarding and data extraction process that will be managed by CRPM DMS team, then giving oversight as SME to that team during regular operations / delivery of the service.Review and provide guidance and training to the internal teams to define and refine loan processing SOPs with strong governance/controlsProvide guidance and training to the internal teams on understanding and capturing loan terms as data points on the CRPM platform, including assessing complexity and feasibilityRun training sessions and support hyper care phases for new and complex loan termsProvide oversight and subject matter expertise (SME) as required for internal data management teams processing information on behalf of the clientWhat we value Experience in Private Credit / Debt, Infrastructure investments, Private Equity, Fund / Portfolio ManagementExperience with loan processing, including key contractual terms and compliance requirements is a must (e.g. Margin Ratchet, Call Protections, Repayment Terms, Commitment Expiries, Step-ups..)Experience in loan amortization schedules highly preferredAbility to communicate equally effectively from C-level to entry level employeesStrong interpersonal skills to manage client relationshipsAnalytical with strong problem-solving skillsProcess efficient with heavy attention to detailAbility to proactively seek solutions and ways to improve performanceExperience working with Business Intelligence dashboards / data modeling is a bonusExperience creating knowledge transfer materials is a bonusEducation & Preferred QualificationsDegree in finance or business preferredCAIA or CFA designation highly preferredAdditional requirementsAbility to travel as required for customer engagements (~ 30%), including internationallyAdaptability and desire to work in fast-paced, changing environment
