Job Overview:Highly hands-on, self-driven Engineer, Information Systems required to take end-to-end technical ownership of Information Management data stores and reporting systems. This role will design, build, operate, and continuously improve databases, data pipelines, and BI solutions to drive scalability, reliability, maintainability.Deliver end-to-end data – design/build/operate databases; pipelines and ETL; orchestration; and Power BI reportsApply standards - establish best practices, reusable frameworks, naming conventions for data stores and ETLStabilize then improve - evaluate current setup; identify quick wins and longer-term improvements.Modernize - plan/execute improvements (such as on-prem to cloud, architecture evolution, performance tuning, maintenance reduction)Key Responsibilities:Ownership and Accountability:Single point of accountability for data pipelines, databases, BI workspaces, and BI reports.Design, build, and operate batch data pipelines end-to-end.Data Engineering and Modelling:Develop ETL/ELT using SQL and Python (with C# as needed); enforce standards, reusable frameworks, and naming conventions.Design practical data models; optimize complex SQL; leverage incremental refresh and aggregations.Architect scalable databases and data models with performance-focused design.Data Quality and Governance:Ensure data quality via tests, validations, schema checks, and alerts; own incident response and remediation.Implement and document data quality controls to meet governance and audit requirements.Validate data mappings and transformations in collaboration with business teams.Technology Utilization:Design, build, and operate Power BI reports and dashboards with RLS/OLS.Monitor data quality metrics and KPIs through BI solutions.Drive improvements in dashboard consolidation, self-service analytics, and user experience.Collaboration and Communication:Partner with business stakeholders to gather and refine BI reporting requirements.Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences; translate business needs into actionable data solutions.Maintain strong documentation practices and promote knowledge sharing across teams.Desired Behaviour:Uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency in all tasks, fostering a culture of trust and ethical behaviour.Demonstrate humility and respect in all interactions, recognizing the value of every team member’s contribution.Engage in clear, honest, and open communication, ensuring that information is shared effectively across all levels of the organization.Approach challenges with a positive attitude, seeking innovative solutions and learning opportunities.Strive for excellence by continually seeking ways to improve processes, expand knowledge, and exceed expectations.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor’s in IT/CS/Engineering (or equivalent).Experience:Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Engineering/Data Analytics within the Oil & Gas EPC industry.SQL Server, Azure, Python, C#, Power BI, REST APIsExperience deploying an end-to-end data solution is highly valuableOil & Gas domain experienceOn-prem to Cloud migration experienceStreaming data experience (nice to have)Spark, Metabase, Snowflakes, GraphDB, NoSQL, Triplestore (nice to have)Docker, Github, AirflowCI/CD for data workflows; performance tuning for batchSkills:Strong data architecture and integration skills; environment discipline (Dev/Test/Prod)Proven ability to keep systems stable with minimal supervision.Certifications:PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate) certification.
