AI Forward Deployed Engineer

ExodusPoint has brought together an accomplished team, with hands-on experience running multi-manager businesses, to create an institutional investment management firm.ExodusPoint is seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to partner directly with our portfolio management and investment teams to build AI solutions while leveraging our central AI platform. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, AI, and front-office investment workflows.As an AI Engineer focused on front office adoption, you will work directly with portfolio managers and analysts to build and deliver impactful AI-powered workflows leveraging the capabilities of our central AI platform. You will turn high-value use cases into production AI agents and tools and create reusable templates and artifacts that make AI accessible to all investment users.Responsibilities:Partner with investment and trading teams to translate business problems into clear AI solution designs with defined objectives, metrics, and rollout plans.Build AI agents, tools, and workflows using the AI capabilities offered by the firm’s AI central platform.Demonstrate the art of the possible and drive AI adoption across investment teams.Run working sessions with business users, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions to drive adoption and effective AI usage patterns.Build and document reusable artifacts that can be rolled out to other teams - prompt templates, workflows, and configurable components across various aspects of investment lifecycle.Collaborate closely with the central AI Platform teams to contribute code, tool, patterns and other back into the central platform so that AI solutions become reusable assets for the entire firm.Work with compliance, legal, risk and technology controls to ensure AI usage is safe, auditable, and aligned with firm standards.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.Strong AI engineering skills: Strong Python background with a track record of building AI/ML solutions, services, integrations, and pipelinesExperience as a forward deployed engineer (FDE) or similar client-facing engineering role at a financial or technology firmHands-on experience with modern AI/LLM concepts such as prompting, agents, MCP tools, semantic retrieval, context engineering, and evaluations.Experience integrating with internal and external APIs, tools, data services, and SQL/relational databases, and working across data, infrastructure, and application layers.Proven ability to collaborate directly with non-technical stakeholders, translate workflows into technical designs, and iterate based on feedback.Solid foundation in distributed systems, performance, and API design; exposure to cloud, messaging/streaming, or gateway technologies is a plus.Experience in hedge funds, asset management, investment banks or other regulated, demanding environments is preferred, but not a requirement.Exposure to investment workflows is preferred but not a requirement.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders (PMs, analysts, product management and central AI platform engineering).
