General Description Commercially-minded Commercial Operations Analyst to support business development, shipping operations and commercial decision-making from our Singapore office.The role combines shipping market analysis, operational and fixture-related data, client intelligence and business analytics to identify opportunities, monitor performance and support client-facing teams across Asia and the Americas. The position is collaborative and client-facing, requiring strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to engage effectively across cultures and seniority levels.Given the Americas focus, the role requires regular overlap with Americas business hours, flexibility outside standard Singapore office hours, and periodic travel. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with Spanish supporting commercial engagement across Latin America and the wider Americas.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesCommercial & Shipping AnalyticsAnalyse vessel, fleet and market data to identify commercial opportunities and trends.Monitor shipowners, managers, operators, charterers, newbuildings, S&P activity and fleet movements.Analyze client portfolios, flag composition, registration opportunities, pipelines and fleet performance.Support client acquisition, fleet expansion and retention through market-share and competitor analysis.Develop forecasts, KPIs and management reporting.Analyze regulatory, inspection and Port State Control data where commercially relevant.Operations, Fixtures &Post-FixtureSupport analysis of vessel employment, fixtures and operational performance.Track voyages, vessel activity, cargo movements and client fleets.Assist with post-fixture analysis, including performance, costs, documentation and commercial follow-up.Monitor vessel and trade activity across Asia, North America, the US Gulf, Caribbean and Latin America.Prepare vessel, fleet and client briefs for commercial discussions.Data Analytics &Business IntelligenceDevelop and maintain Power BI dashboards, Excel models and commercial reporting tools.Clean, combine and validate data from internal systems and external maritime databases.Automate recurring reports and analytical processes where practical.Use Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for pipeline analysis, segmentation and commercial prioritization.Present analytical findings clearly to management and commercial stakeholders.Market Intelligence &Client SupportMonitor shipping activity across Asia and the Americas.Research shipowners, managers, operators, charterers and other industry participants.Track newbuildings, ownership and management changes and other events that may create commercial opportunities.Analyze fleet developments and trading patterns across the Americas.Support engagement with US and Latin American maritime stakeholders.Prepare client profiles, fleet analyses, presentations and commercial proposals.Visit client offices, vessels and other operational premises as required to support commercial relationships and gain direct insight into client operations.Travel periodically within Asia and to the Americas for client meetings and industry events.General Qualification Guidelines Bachelor's degree or equivalent.Approximately 1–3 years of relevant experience in shipping, maritime services, commercial analytics or vessel operations.Strong proficiency in Excel and Power BI and experience with complex datasets.Familiarity with Salesforce and maritime data sources such as S&P Global/IHS, Waypoint, Clarksons or AIS platforms is advantageous.Understanding of shipping operations, vessel terminology and fixture/post-fixture processes.Knowledge of the Americas shipping market, including fleet developments and key maritime stakeholders, is highly desirable.Familiarity with US and Latin American maritime regulatory and commercial environments is advantageous.Experience with forecasting, automation or APIs is beneficial.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong analytical and commercial judgement.Ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights.Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build rapport and read situations effectively.Confidence engaging with stakeholders across cultures and seniority levels.Strong attention to detail, communication and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and take ownership.Comfortable working across commercial, operational and technical teams.Flexibility to maintain regular overlap with business hours in the Americas and travel internationally as required.The role requires regular working-hour overlap with North and Latin American time zones, including early-morning and/or evening hours in Singapore where required. Periodic travel to the Americas and within Asia, including visits to client premises, vessels and industry events, will form part of the role.
