Founded by a veteran enterprise CFO, the platform seamlessly integrates disparate accounting (Xero, QuickBooks) and CRM systems to automate complex revenue recognition, month-end close, and CFO forecasting for high-growth SaaS businesses ($2M–$20M ARR).With nearly 250 paying B2B customers and over £1M ARR, the company is entering its next major phase: embedding autonomous AI Agent workflows onto its core Python/Django and ETL architecture to shrink week-long financial processes down to minutes.Why This Role Stands OutEnd-to-End Domain Ownership: You won't just be handed tickets. You will act as a "mini-Product Manager" and Lead Architect (60–70% engineering, 30–40% product/architecture)—owning complete business domains such as Revenue Recognition, CRM-to-Finance ETL pipelines, Forecasting Engines, or Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.AI-Native Engineering Culture: Leverage state-of-the-art coding agents (Claude Code), loop engineering, and multi-agent swarms with guardrails to accelerate development and focus on high-level system design and business logic.Lead Track & Direct CTO Mentorship: Report directly to the CTO (currently based in Southeast Asia) to take over core backend workstreams, with a clear runway to grow into a foundational Engineering Leadership role.Remote Autonomy + Real Human Connection: Enjoy full remote flexibility in APAC, backed by a 1-on-1 in-person onboarding week in your city (the CTO will fly to you!) and an annual all-expenses-paid team retreat in London, UK.Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Architecture & Data Modeling: Design, implement, and scale normalised domain-bound data models in PostgreSQL and high-performance backend services using Python and Django.ETL Pipelines & 3rd-Party API Integrations: Build resilient ETL data pipelines and deep API integrations with accounting platforms (Xero, QuickBooks), payment gateways, and CRM systems.AI Agent & LLM Orchestration: Integrate LLM APIs, build MCP server extensions, and architect autonomous agent workflows that automate complex financial journals (deferred revenue, accruals, prepayments) and CFO reporting.Pragmatic Product Delivery: Collaborate directly with the CEO/Founder, CTO, and product team (including joining customer calls) to scope, estimate, and ship pragmatic MVPs quickly, iterating based on real customer feedback.Cloud & Infrastructure: Deploy and maintain scalable microservices and serverless architectures on AWS using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).What We Are Looking For5–8+ Years Backend Engineering Experience: Deep proficiency building production web applications and APIs in Python (preferably Django), with strong mastery of PostgreSQL / RDBMS and normalised data modeling.Data & Cloud Engineering Chops: Proven experience building ETL pipelines, integrating complex third-party APIs, and working with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and microservices/serverless patterns.AI-First Mindset: Hands-on experience—or obsessive self-driven experimentation—with AI coding agents, LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI), and agentic automation.Product-Driven Self-Starter: Excellent communication skills; fearless in speaking with product stakeholders and customers, scoping ambiguous problems, and delivering reliably in a fast-paced, high-trust remote startup.Bonus Points (Not a Blocker): Prior exposure to FinTech, Accounting/ERP systems, BI platforms, or CRM integrations, and a strong Computer Science pedigree from a top-tier university (e.g., NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, IIT).How to ApplyApply confidentially with your CV, or reach out directly to Jay Banghar, Managing Director at SearchElect ([email protected]) for a confidential briefing.
