AI Security Engineer

We are seeking an AI Security Engineer to shape and execute our organisation's AI security vision. You will safeguard our systems against modern AI threats, such as deepfake driven phishing or synthetic identity attacks, while securing our internal AI applications, agents, and copilots.Working closely with cross functional technology, risk, and audit teams, you will act as the principal technical authority for secure AI adoption.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & ArchitectureDefine and drive the overall AI security roadmap.Design secure by design patterns for GenAI models, agentic workflows, and machine learning pipelines.Establish governance frameworks aligned with standards such as NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, and MITRE ATLAS.Provide technical guidance to senior leadership on emerging AI risks.Engineering & ImplementationBuild defensive controls for AI agents, including prompt injection mitigation, output sanitisation, and tool sandboxing.Integrate AI specific detection mechanisms into our existing security monitoring pipelines.Develop incident response playbooks tailored to model abuse, data exfiltration, and agent escape scenarios.Oversee adversarial testing, AI red teaming, and vulnerability remediation.Operations & OversightMonitor production AI implementations to ensure continuous control effectiveness.Collaborate with SOC and operations teams to respond to AI related security incidents.Manage external security vendors, assessment partners, and specialist tools.Requirements & QualificationsCore Skills & Technical BackgroundStrong software engineering foundation with hands on coding capabilities.Deep understanding of application security fundamentals, secure coding practices, and OWASP standards, including the OWASP Top 10 and OWASP LLM Top 10.Practical experience securing production software, GenAI tools, or ML pipelines.Experience & CertificationsAround 5 to 8 years of experience in software engineering, application security, or cybersecurity operations.Relevant industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or specialised cloud and security credentials, are advantageous.
