Development Lead

Responsibilities: - Define and drive the long-term backend architecture strategy aligned with business goals- Oversee system design across multiple services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security- Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices across the organization- Lead technical due diligence, risk assessment, and trade-off analysis for major engineering decisions- Drive platform modernization initiatives and technical debt reduction- Champion observability, performance engineering, and operational excellence- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend architects and senior engineers- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning- Drive hiring and onboarding for the backend architecture team- Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing- Coordinate cross-team technical initiatives and resolve architectural conflicts

Requirements: - 10+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years in a lead or principal role- Proven track record designing and scaling distributed systems in production- Strong experience leading and mentoring engineering teams- Deep expertise in backend languages (Java, Go, Python, Node.js, or similar)-Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and API design- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure) and modern infrastructure practices- Strong understanding of database design, caching, messaging, and high-concurrency systems- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
