The Investment Counselor (IC) is a senior investment professional who serves as a trusted advisor to both clients and internal stakeholders. Recognized as a subject-matter authority on investment products and market trends, the IC plays a critical role in translating Citi’s Chief Investment Office (CIO) views into actionable, client-specific solutions.This role requires strong market insight, client-centric thinking, and the ability to communicate complex investment strategies clearly and credibly. The IC partners closely with Client Advisors and Market Managers to deliver differentiated investment advice to high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients across South East Asia.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner closely with Client Advisors to manage investment relationships and deliver CIO views to wealth clientsAct as a primary investment contact and trusted advisor for clients, including:Direct advisory and executionDetermining product suitabilityIdentifying investment opportunitiesProviding portfolio construction and supportSupport Client Advisors and Market Managers serving South East Asia markets, enhancing overall advisory effectivenessDrive share-of-wallet growth by helping deepen existing client relationships and supporting acquisition of new high net worth prospectsDevelop and deliver customized investment proposals aligned to individual client objectives and risk profilesEducate the Client Advisors group on investment products, market trends, and portfolio solutionsAccompany Client Advisors in client meetings to present or co-present investment strategiesCollaborate with internal specialists, wholesalers, and partners to deliver holistic wealth solutionsRepresent Citi at client events and investment forums when requiredProvide consistently high levels of communication, responsiveness, and service excellence to clients and internal stakeholdersBe accountable for product penetration and revenue goalsEnsure all activities comply with Citi policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards, proactively identifying and escalating risks as appropriateQualifications10–15 years of experience in investment product sales, advisory, or closely related rolesStrong, broad-based understanding of:Financial markets and asset classesInvestment products and portfolio constructionFinancial planning principles and strategiesProven client-centric mindset, with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to influence, partner, and collaborate effectively across teams and hierarchiesFluency in Bahasa Indonesia is a plusRelevant regulatory licenses as required by local jurisdictionEducationBachelor’s degree requiredMaster’s degree preferred
