AISG will bring together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products, to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore’s AI efforts.AISG is driven by a government-wide partnership comprising NRF, Smart Nation Group (SNG), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Economic Development Board (EDB), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), amongst others.AI Singapore (AISG) in partnership with the SAF AI Centre (SAIC), is seeking an experienced AI Governance Strategy Manager to contribute to the development and operationalisation of an AI Governance Framework.SAIC is a unit within the Digital and Intelligence Service, dedicated to addressing SAF's operational data science challenges and operationalising AI solutions. As the centre of excellence for AI, SAIC enhances the operational capabilities of SAF, driving productivity and efficiency through innovative AI solutions that advance SAF's defence capabilities.Duties & ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Contribute to the development of the AI Strategy Roadmap which outlines the objectives and guidelines for AI tools and models, deployment, and use-case discovery, and usage of AI.Contribute to the development and implementation of the AI governance playbook that aids in operationalisation of the AI governance strategy, providing a structured approach to navigating AI governance challenges and opportunities.Work closely with cross-functional teams to influence considerations of AI-related risks from throughout the entire product development lifecycle.Provide regular reports and insights on AI governance effectiveness and continually track and evaluate these metrics.Conduct strategic foresight and research to develop future scenarios and identify opportunities to optimise AI governance policies.Provide updates on the evolving AI-related legal and regulatory requirements.Manage, collaborate with, and influence internal senior, cross-functional and external industry, and regulatory stakeholders.QualificationsDegree in public policy, law, governance, computer science, data science, or equivalent.6+ years of experience in governance, risk, compliance, policy, technology assurance, or related roles.Demonstrated AI literacy: able to work credibly with technical teams and understand modern GenAI patterns to govern them (e.g., RAG, agentic workflows, and multimodal AI). (Multimodal adoption and system capability expansion are widely tracked in 2025–2026 industry coverage.Strong quantitative skills for data-driven KPI design, dashboarding, and governance metrics that measure accountability and impact.Practical capability to evaluate risk in AI-enabled workflows, including retrieval, tool-use automation, and human-in-the-loop controls (often operationalised through LLMOps practices in enterprise settings).Strong stakeholder management and writing skills; able to draft playbooks, decision matrices, and briefing packs.
