Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Product Team. You will be handling the backend side of our web applications. If you have excellent programming knowledge and a passion for developing applications or improving existing ones, we would like to meet you. As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be development of server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend. Ultimately, you should be able to develop and maintain functional and stable web applications to meet our company’s needs.

Responsibilities:

Design and build data-driven products that power and scale with the operations of our end-users. Keep our services fast and reliable: monitor performance and uptime, find and fix bottlenecks, and reduce errors and downtime as usage grows. Work across the whole backend (APIs, business logic, databases, and infrastructure), and ship clean, maintainable code backed by well-written unit tests. You will be working closely with the team to launch and test new event technology. At the same time, you will have ownership of your projects as you lead them and make design decisions at the code and infrastructure level.

Requirements:

Strong backend experience in Python, including web frameworks (e.g., Flask) and databases. Hands-on experience building RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) applications, including embeddings, vector databases, and LLM APIs. Strong system design skills: you can design services and data models that scale reliably, and explain the trade-offs behind your choices. AI workflow proficiency: comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day engineering work, from writing and reviewing code to debugging and documentation. Solid computer science fundamentals and a good grasp of modern software development practices. Strong spoken and written English: you can discuss ideas, write clearly, and present confidently, as English is our daily working language.

Nice to have:

Experience with agentic coding: working with AI coding agents that plan, write, and test code across a codebase. Machine learning fundamentals. Understanding of data pipelines and experience with big data tools. Experience with continuous integration (CI) tools and test automation.
