You will set the technical direction, drive architectural decisions, and raise the engineering bar — while staying hands-on with code and guiding engineers through complex problem-solving. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own and drive the technical vision, architecture, and design for the Cards domain
Be a hands-on coding leader — write, review, and set the quality bar for production code
Lead technical design discussions, RFC processes, and cross-team architectural decisions
Mentor and upskill engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
Partner with Product and Engineering Manager to translate business goals into technical roadmaps
Identify and resolve technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges
Champion engineering best practices: testing, observability, CI/CD, and Agile delivery Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and peer tech leads on platform-wide standards
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
10+ years of backend development experience in Node.js with strong C# exposure
3+ years of advanced SQL (MSSQL / Oracle / MySQL / PostgreSQL)
Proven track record as a technical leader driving complex, distributed systems
Deep experience building SaaS platforms on AWS
Containers & Kubernetes (K8s/EKS) experience
Message broker expertise: RabbitMQ / SQS / Kafka (Kafka preferred)
Microservices architecture and strong OOP / design patterns knowledge Experience in payment card systems, card processing, or financial platforms

Full-stack exposure: Next
Redis or equivalent caching layer
ORM experience (Entity Framework or similar)
Domain Driven Design (DDD) practice PCI-DSS compliance or card network (Visa/Mastercard) integration experience
