About the roleAspenHealth is seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of Information Technology to lead the Group's technology function.As a fast-growing SME, this role requires someone equally comfortable defining technology strategy, leading projects, writing technical specifications, troubleshooting production systems, negotiating with vendors, reviewing source code, optimising SQL performance, and mentoring developers.You will oversee technology across the group, supporting clinical operations, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, infrastructure, software development, data, AI initiatives, and regulatory compliance.You will lead a lean but highly capable team of developers and analysts, ensuring technology remains an enabler of operational excellence and future growth.Key responsibilitiesBusiness and Technology LeadershipDevelop and execute the Group's technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.Build and maintain an architecture that is secure, scalable and maintainable.Drive technology transformation across clinical, operational and corporate functions.Establish technology standards, governance and best practices.Partner functional leads in clinical operations, finance, HR, logistics to translate operational requirements into practical technology solutionsSoftware Development LeadershipProvide technical leadership for all internally developed systems, including:Clinic Management SystemHR and Payroll Finance integrations Inventory & Logistics Patient EngagementBusiness IntelligenceAI initiativesAPIs and third-party integrationsResponsibilities include:Designing systems and setting standards with functional leadsReviewing architecture and codeProject management and deliveryInfrastructure & OperationsOversee:ServersCloud platformsNetworksBackupsDisaster RecoveryMicrosoft environmentsDatabase platformsIdentity ManagementEndpoint managementCybersecurity & ComplianceEnsure appropriate governance over:CybersecurityData privacyHealthcare regulationsBusiness continuityDisaster recoveryAccess controlSecurity monitoringVulnerability managementDevelop practical policies appropriate for an SME healthcare environment.Team ManagementLead and mentor the Group IT team by:Developing technical capabilityConducting code reviewsSetting engineering standardsEstablishing development methodologiesCoaching future technical leadersManaging priorities and workloadsPromote a collaborative, ownership-driven culture.Project DeliveryLead technology projects from concept through implementation, including:Requirements gatheringVendor managementBudgetingSolution designRisk managementImplementationPost-implementation supportBalance rapid delivery with long-term maintainability.Hands-on Technical ContributionThis role is expected to remain technically involved where appropriate, including:Reviewing source codeWriting proof-of-concept solutionsSQL optimisationSystems troubleshootingArchitecture reviewsTechnical documentationProduction issue resolutionThis is a leadership role for someone who enjoys building, solving and delivering—not simply delegating.REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.12+ years of experience in software engineering and ITExperience in .NET, Entity Framework, MVC, C#, and web technologies preferredExpert proficiency in MSSQL and experience with database management, query and performance optimization.At least 5 years experience leading technical teams and working cross functionally in management capacityExperience managing both software development and infrastructurePrior experience in the healthcare industry and with enterprise systems (such as Finance / Accounting, ERP, WMS, HRMS) is highly valued.Experience managing technology in a multi-site organisationHealthcare industry experience is highly advantageous
